Teacher Complaint: Principal/ Steve Salyers - Charles Russell Elementary School
I realize this complaint is a few years old but I have my reasons. My son was enrolled in this school from K-6th. Upon my having a complaint to the Principal about a certain teachers treatment toward my son, my son was from that point set aside, alienated, and harrassed from grade 4 through grade 6. He was suspended for breaking a sink that he had leaned on and thus it fell. The numerous children that I had heard say that they walked on the sinks, sat on the sinks, made me realize that if the sink was stabe to begin with, my son leaning on the sink certainly would not cause it to collapse. When my son returned from his 3 day suspension the Principal had a police officer waiting in his office to talk to my son. He then took my son out to a cruiser and put him in the back to show him what could happen if he continued down his criminal path. This was a sink and the Principal laughed when he entered the bathroom and seen my son holding the sink up and trying not to let it fall, which my son failed at doing. My son was given failing grades his 6th grade year in every single class including gym, even though he turned in completed work for each class. He was yelled at in front of peers, made to feel less of a human being in front of peers. I and several other parents have faced problems within this school and are trying to find the right recourse.
