Teacher Complaint: Joan Clay - Colonial Campus/ Intermediate Unit 1
These incidents have occured from the beginning of Feb 1 through the end end of May and early June. Special needs children are being rough handled by the teacher and aides. Physical hands on abuse such as hitting, holds, dragging by the feet etc. Most of the kids are non-verbal and not able to defend or speak for themselves. This has been brought to the attention of the supervisors but no corrective measures have been taken and these actions continue and most likely will continue in the next school year. The teacher herself has a history of physical hands on treatment of other kids in other schools under the directive of IU1 and had to attend anger management classes which did not help. This kids have multiple disabilities and the ages vary in the class. The teacher needs removed as well as the aides who are not competent or properly trained to work with these children.
