Teacher Complaint: Carol Tooker; John Fiorentino - Russell O. Brackman M S
Oct. 16 I first contacted Carol Tooker andJoe Romano in regards to my daughter getting some tutoring. I noticed her grade was low. Initially both teachers seemed more then willing to help my child. In Dec. when I received her report card she had a C in this class. I contacted those 2 teachers again and this time I was assured she could get tutoring during lunch daily (from Joe Romano) with the exception of the teacher having lunch duty. When my child went for the tutoring she was turned away a week straight. Then Joe Romano told me he would only tutor her before a test. I felt that was unacceptable because I wanted her to do more then just get a good grade on a test. After I told them how I felt I heard no more from the 2 teachers so I contacted the Assistant Principal John Fiorentino. He was agianst me from the start telling me there is no way the teachers offered tutoring daily and Joe Romano stated my child was not his student. After I spoke with him I get an e-mail from the Superintendent Jason Bing giving me the chain of command and telling me my concerns were generic. After I forwarded the e-mail to the principal which clearly stated daily tutoring was available I haven't heard from him since. Needless to say my daughter never got any tutoring. About a week ago I asked Carol Tooker for all Quiz and Test that have been graded, I asked her 3x before I received 1. So I told her im tired of her being uncooperative and requested a meeting. That was ignored and she told my daughter to tell me to stop asking her for test/ quiz because she is getting irritated. This is my daughters first year in middle school and I feel I'm going to have nothing but trouble dealing with this school. We are minority and I can count with both hands the number of minorities in the whole school. I'm really angry and would like to know how to handle my problem.
