I got central for being late. But I don't live near the school is I shouldn't get detention for not living near the school

If you are over 2 hours away from your school, you need to reconsider changing schools or waking up earlier. I teach in New York City where some of my students come from as far away as almost 2 hours and they still make it to school.
Do not use your inability to get yourself together as an attack on your teacher.
If she/he let everyone slide by when they were late then why would anyone come to class?

Use your brain.
