Teacher Complaint: Jose Tejada - Prospect High

On Wednesday, the second to last class before our final exam in Spanish III, Mr. Tejada informed the class that we would have an oral portion to our final. He expected us to write an essay (which he had never had us do before), memorize it, and deliver the next class. He gave us no time in class to work on it whatsoever and expected us to deliver perfectly, we had to talk him into letting us use note cards. In addition to this, he informed us that he would pull questions from our old tests to use on the final. He uses very specific questions on those tests that pertain to small details in articles we read once in class, then never look at again. Are we allowed to look at our old tests? No. Did he give us a study guide? No. Did he give us a decent amount of warning about this? No. Did even do an in class review before our final? No. I feel as though this teacher wants me to do poorly in his class. I used to love Spanish, I represented my school in a Spanish poetry contest and took third, I won Spanish speaker of the year two years running, and I intended to take AP Spanish my senior year. Do I intend to take it now? You couldn't pay me to take another year of Spanish after this. Senor Tejada makes a subject I used to love horrible and he does not help us to succeed.
