Teacher Complaint: Mrs. Lehmkuhl - Troy High School
For the whole school year so far everything she has taught in my geometry class was through one example and then maybe showing the class how to do it. If we raised our hands because we were confused, we were to to come in before or after school. She never has us practice problems over and over so that we can understand them and rarely helps kids during class. A few times I've been absent and I've come in asking for help before school starts, and she just tells me to get the notes from another student and says we'l be working on it again in class today. But with her same ineffective tactics. Today though, she told the class that we just didn't care. She was finding more and more homework assignments that looked the same(she tells us we are allowed to "compare answers" and she even make the air quotes herself)and that too many people were just leaving questions blank. She says its lack of caring. But all the students say she doesn't teach. She tells us, but she doesn't teach. Her excuse for this is that in the past the have been some student that do not pay attention when she has done this. SOME. Tomorrow morning I'm going to go in to talk to her about it, but what should I do if she just sends me away again? Can I take legal action if she doesn't change anything? Also, that period after this class, I was walking with my English class to the library when I heard a student in my geometry class say that he needs to switch to informal geometry because he cannot learn from Mrs. Lehmkuhl. The amount of people in my class with D's and F's is just outrageous, its about half of the class. and I'm fairly sure it isn't because they ALL don't care.
