ZORA NEALE HURSTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Is it my childs fault that he is failing kinder garden or the school!

Teacher Complaint: Garcia - Zora Neale Hurston Elementary School

My 5 year old son is not learning how to read even though I support him at home with his hw as well as internet sights that may help him. I am at a lost as his twin sister can read perfectly already but she is in another class with another teacher.

If there is a parent out there that their child goes to Zora Neale and is having the same issue please contact me. Apparently back in the beginning of the school year they made up a new kinder garden class in which they went to all K teachers and asked that they give up 3 students so that they can give to this new class.

Well it now seems that they gave the teachers the option to give up the sleepy, distracted, playful, annoying kids. They did not take into consideration that these were little ones just starting the school transition and getting used to their K teacher, these teachers just gave them up. The administration should have done a random choosing (like lottery) not give the teachers the option because to me no good teacher that really cares abour a student would give up a child that she would see really needs the extra help.

I beleive that all these little ones got put into this new k class with their new teacher which i am not blaming but probably is more over whelmed. Therefore I have a feeling that these students that got placed into this class are all having the same or similiar issues and I want to hear from you if your little one is going thru the same thing. There is a chance that my son will be held back in K because of the schools great idea which who knows what was their real reason for doing this, which leads me to beleive that my son did not get the attention he needed and therefore may be held behind.

Please if there is a parent out there that they have a child that goes to Zora Neale and is in Kinder Garden please reach out so we can discuss and see if our kids are in the same class and having the same issues.
