Teacher Complaint: Janet Bolus - Fountain City Elementary

This incompetent teacher should have been rejected from the Knoxville system many years ago. She failed at the 2nd and 5th grade levels so has now been moved to arts. Unfortunately, she brought her spiteful and nasty character with her to the job. My son used to look forward to art projects. No longer. In a few short months Janet Bolus has turned his delight into dread. Very, very sad to think how many youngsters this woman will damage. She makes negative, sarcastic and judgmental remarks about the children’s work, tries to control how/what they draw, and pits one child against another. The woman should not be allowed to perpetrate her psychiatric problems on children of any age.

The parent above is incredibly uninformed and biased. I am so grateful that both of my children had the pleasure of having Mrs. Bolus as their 2nd grade teacher. She is a very caring and loving person and is very passionate about her job. She doesn't stifle children's creativity, but encourages it.

I know for a fact that Mrs. Bolus never taught 5th grade or art at Fountain City Elementary. Therefore, if the parent who wrote this hurtful comment actually had a child in Mrs. Bolus's art class, the child would've been enrolled at Brickey Elementary, not FCE. Any parent would be lucky to have Mrs. Bolus teach his or her child, and I'm very glad that my children had her as a positive influence in their lives.
