My issue did not happen on a certain date. This has been going on all year with this teacher. First I will start with some background. We have Two girls at this school in diffrent grades. Our 3rd grader has always been an outstanding student and loves school our other child struggles and does not like school. Our third grader did not turn her homework in one time during the first quarter of school due to a mix up at home with it not making in to her back pack even though it was done. her report card only discussed about how our child never turns in her homework so we schedueled a confrence. in the confrence i asked for examples of times/dates or even windows of time that homework was not turned in. The only response I recieved was that she didnt keep track of it. so i responded with well you obviousely have kept track enough to slam her on her report card for it all i want now is an idea of when she isnt turning it in so i can fix it. I could tell at this point all i she was doing was backpedaling and had no confidence in her acusations of the homework being an issue. So my wife and i talked about what we should do since we could tell our child was basically incompetant in our oppinion. Well we sat back and did nothing for a few months and then there was a day that parents were supposed to go to school to read with there children. I am active duty military and could not attend so this made it difficult for my wife to juggle getting time with both children. the school posted the start and finish times that this reading on the grass would take place. Mrs Cap was the only teacher not paying attention to her students as some were playing tag instead of reading while she had her face stuck in her cosmo magazine. when she was done with her magazine she ended the classes reading time on the grass a full 20-30 minutes early without giving the parents any reason why. parents took off of work to be there and this is how they were treated for trying to be engaged. also when she abruptly announced that it was time to go insided she didnt even pay attention to see if her students followed she just stormed off to the class. that day was also supposed to be show and tell and my wife brought our kids tadpoles and handed them to the teacher and asked if it was ok if our child could share them. the teacher said it was fine. the next day we find out that the teacher infact did not let her share her tadpoles and instead had the studednts put put there heads down while she surffed the internet, talked on her cell phone and texted. We then found out that she does this anywere from 5-7 times a day with having the students put there heads down while she screws off. this is not what tax dollars are supposed to be paid for and to many good teachers are being laid off for this women to be doing this. we showed this first report card to our childs first and second grade teacher and both repied with something similiar to this is not your child at all she is nothing like this report card. I have made an appointment to see the principal next week. I wrote this because i am so mad about this that i needed to let it out now so i can calm down. i am not even going to proof read so i am sorry for my spelling and grammer but its almost 1 AM and now that this is off my chest i am going to bed if anyone has info on the best ways to get a situation corrected like this please let me know. I have known plenty of mean teachers and i can deal with that but a teacher that doesnt give a crap??? why did she get into this field?
