Teacher Complaint: Mr. Long - Mira Loma Middle

This teacher verbally and mentally abuses his students when they dont get a math problem correct. He teaches the subject or assignment in a cold fast pace manner and if the students dont get it and ask questions...Mr. Long sighs and gets upset, So the students are scared to ask questions...And he calls on students to the front of the class who are having problems understanding the math and makes them do the problem (knowing they dont get it) Embarrassment is NEVER a teaching tool...so the student will say i dont understand it... Mr. Long will say "well get it" that is so wrong to embarrass , discourage and unmotivate the students. He teases students, gets in there face to ask them questions(as if hes in the ring ready to box) All the students are scared of him and dont tell their parents. He will crush their class work and toss it in the trash and stare right at them with the dirtiest look on his face if the work is wrong. I wish these kids would tell their parents...Ill let the counceler know all about it when I go in to talk with her...Im taking my kid outta there! My kid just informed me about all this 3 days ago. So I will make sure Mr. Long knows that he is being monitored and im gonna file a complaint and try to get put on his file! BIGO BULLY!!

Someone needs to sneak a voice recorder in the class and report him to the district. He shouldn't be teaching.

Happy to say...My son and Mr. Long are getting along. Math Teacher backed off.My son is happy.Enjoys going to class now. We had a meeting with Mr. Long we are all clear on what needs to be done to help my son understand and pass his Math class. Mr.Long means well but at the same time he can go over board. All in all hes a good teacher. As for my son, he is such a big man and mature for his age. He decided to stay in Mr Longs class and prove to Mr Long that he can pass his class and show Mr Long as well as his self that he will not run from his problems he will face them.

sorry, but i have to say something im a student of mr.long ,and mr. long is a good teacher, but i do agree that he makes us stand in front of the classroom while we dont understand.
