Teacher Complaint: Joe B. - International School Of Louisiana

The International High School of New Orleans is officially closed this week. Students are off.

However, the administration demanded all teachers and staff return for 2 days of "Professional Development".

Teachers were also told that if they did not attend these two days of meetings their paychecks would be double docked.

However, neither the Head of School (Sean Wilson), the principal (Adierah Berger), nor the Assistant Principal (Jenny Carreno) will be in attendance for these so-called mandatory meetings that their staff and faculty have to attend if they don't want to lose double pay for those days.

No surprise that this school spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on legal expenses to keep their teachers from joining a union: https://www.nola.com/education/2018/09/international_high_school_unio.html

There is no way teachers and staff would tolerate this type of behavior if they were protected by a union. This administration treats their employees worse than dirt!

Is this illegal? Immoral? Bad management?
