Teacher Complaint: Joanne Amador-zapata - Wheeling High School
Ms. Amador-Zapata can be a nice lady when she wants to be, but she's racist. When one of my friends (who was white) was taking her rSpanish 3 class, struggling in it, and confronted Ms. Amador-Zapata about it, Ms. Amador-Zapata became very rude and condescending towards my friend. She demanded to know why my friend was in her class and told my friend that she shouldn't be in her presence because she was Hispanic/Latino enough for Ms. Amador-Zapata. How racist is that?!?! She even reportedly did the same thing to all of the other non-Hispanic/Latino students in her classes (there weren't many non-Hispanic/Latino students in her classes). I don't recommend taking her for any Spanish class. Trying to fix a problem and learn isn't worth being treated horribly because of a person's skin color, race, or ethnicity.

She just assumes we get this stuff right away when the truth is some people have a hard time learning the language especially if they have not ever even learned it before. And don't just be a smart ass and say oh well you prolly dont do your homework because guess what? I do. Every day, and if we have trouble in class what do people do? raise their hand and she takes like 10 minuets to come up to you, and when she finally does she gives you attitude for "asking so many questions"
and that's just bull. Shes a TEACHER for crying out loud shes SUPPOSED to help you.

I would get annoyed too if the same questions were being asked by the same lazy students! HELP YOURSELF and get a TUTOR or how many came in for help.
and AGAIN, get your facts straight. THERE ARE NEVER NATIVE SPEAKERS IN CLASSESS WITH NON-NATIVES!!
If you're in Spanish class and you're Spanish than you SHOULD know your OWN language.
MRS. ZAPATA is a hardworking lady and doesn't deserve ungrateful students talking about her. RESPECT teachers.
NOTE: I was in class with Jessica and she didnt yell and was ALWAYS HELPFUL. She even had parties for us!
