Teacher Complaint: Staff - River Oaks El
I don't like this school in any way. I have never met the principal only the assistant principal. I wasn't even official and also under horrible circumstances. My child had been riding the school bus home and on this particular day I forgot to tell her not to ride. I went to the bus to get her off. Petermann Transportation by the way, and I told the driver that I wanted to get my daughter. He didn't say anything and continued staring into the crowd of children. Shrugging my shoulders I called my child's name. She peaked her head out into the isle. I motioned for he to come with me and that's when the driver jumped in front of me blocking me from my child. This would not have been an issue if it weren't for the delayed reaction. My child is mixed with Mexican and Black, this makes her look completely Mexican and I am black. As soon as the driver saw how different we looked from each other is when he had a problem. He said that I needed a school official to verify her as my child. One of the teachers came onto the bus and went to get others of the staff. Several others. I had my child climb over the seat. The assistant principal called the police on me saying that I abducted my own child even though I told them her full name and they have seen me picking her up several times throughout the school year.
Somehow they know who I am all of sudden when I go up to the school. They called it a safety issue but it was so judging by the delayed reaction of the driver. I call it a race issue.
