Teacher Complaint: Mrs. Anne Fay - Lake Ridge Middle

This has been going on for years apparently. When I found out my child had this woman people were warning me about her and how I needed to get the class changed. I didnt listen.
I know she is teaching accelerated English which is a high school course but she takes it to the extreme. She is never clear and does not give direction. When asked about this she tells the parents that she is preparing the kids for college. Well, here is some news for her...between 8th grade and college there are 4 more grade levels. Also, having kids in college I can say that college professors do in fact give directions. These kids are not mind readers and have no idea how she wants things done. WHen they do the work and get it wrong Mrs. Fay puts it up on the smart board and then picks on the kid. Every student in my childs class is scared to death of this woman because they know they will be picked on.
Also, she will have the students do an assignment about what the kids opinions are...then give them a bad grade because the opinion is different than hers.
She has such a GOD complex that when you go to talk with her she acts like she has no idea what you are talking about and then goes and yells at your child later in class. Luckily, I have been secretly recording her and cannot wait to go to the school board with what I have.
Moral of the story..if you find that your child has this woman, you need to make sure you get them out of that class ASAP.

It sounds to me as though your child just doesn't make the cut. I am tired of people who don't like teachers with high expectations. Your child will probably learn much more from her than from teachers who hand out easy A's. Encourage your child to rise to the challenge. All you are teaching her now is to whine and complain when the going gets tough. Shame on you!
