Teacher Complaint: School District - Buna H S

The math department at Buna HS is a joke. Students do not learn any of the topics as described by the course name. The teachers and administration are "teaching" basic math skills in advanced math classes and coding them as such to appear on transcripts and report to the state. It is sad that kids who want to take these classes for future careers (i.e. college!!!) are left with no choice. The AP standard for the school must be reconsidered as the AP program itself is just a GPA booster.

The school must remember that technology is the future and refusing to teach kids the appropriate topics that colleges want to see. This is not only bad for the school, but also for the students. They are not being offered the education that they could get elsewhere, and this affects their future. Students should be learning advanced math (and the term 'advanced' is used very loose, as Calculus is the most advanced math class Buna offers... but doesn't do it well), but are learning basic math. This would not bother me so much if it wasn't coded by the administration and printed on transcripts that are sent to colleges.
