Teacher Complaint: Ms. Espsito - Challenger Elementary School
My girlfriend requested a parent/teacher conference last week, the next day our child came home with a form saying our conference was to be Wenseday January 25th at 3pm. So my girlfriend took a day off work and arrived at the school today to be told that Ms. Espsito called out and a subsitute had covered her class. No one ever contacted my girlfriend to let her know this.
My complaint is that there was NO responsibilty taken by the school or the teacher. After having the front office contact the teacher she responded by saying she thought it was on the day before and we were the ones who stood her up. So her response to wasting our time is to accuse us of wasting hers. If we had stood her up why did she not contact us? She has two phone numbers for us, it would have taken all of thirty seconds to cancel the appointment.
I've had issues with this teacher returning my messages all year. At one point it took two weeks of messages to get her to call me. She will not accept emails or any other form of communication.
We've requested that a behavior sheet be filled out daily with how our special needs child is performing in class. Her response is a sheet that she is supposed to bubble green, yellow, or red, depending on our childs behavior that day.
She never fills out any of the comment boxes and is constantly writing the wrong date. For all I know our child is the one filling it out...
I'm very disappointed with this teacher. Our child is unfortunate in that he has special needs, but when we recieve this kind of treatment from his school it just compounds the helplessness my girlfriend and I face on a daily basis confronting the needs of our child.
The lack of communication and responsibility they take when standing us up for an appointment is appalling. They have cost my girlfriend a day of work when we are barely getting by as it is. And they will take zero responsibility for it, as a matter of fact they blamed her for their mistake.
