Teacher Complaint: Mrs.ollar/mrs.turner - Southaven Elementary
I wont to make this complaint I have an 11year old son who attends southaven elementary school.Let me start off by saying this was not my school of chose I had heard things about this school that I was not pleased with,but I tryed to keep a possitive mind about this situation.So my child came home one day and he had a sad look in his eyes ,I asked him what was wrong and he replyed that his 5th grade teacher Mrs.Ollar told him your annoying,so very concerned about this I made a conference with her.She said that my son was talking and was not turning in some of his work.I assured her that I would work on that problem with him,and let her know that I was very disatisified with her words towards him.So after that conference He did good for about two weeks about and he came home that same way sad looking.I asked him whats wrong and he then said she asked him "do your parents make you miserable",and she said I know they dont because I make you miserable,she then told him that she would put him in another class but she couldnt because no one wonted him in there class,She also have let a little white kid take his paper and she just let him have his paper.on another occasion he was being picked on and he hit back after he constantly was being picked on and he continued to tell her and she did abosolutely nothing not even tell this child to stop.Then when he finally stood up for himself he was wrote up while nothing was done to this other child that picked on him every day for about a month.I then wrote her a letter,which she continued to talk about hes loud and hes not doing his work I told her that if there is one day that passed by and he didnt do his work to let me know that Id be up there she never called me or let me know any thing about there being anymore problems,until today when I went to have a conference with the principal which by the way was very rude and ugly her name was Mrs.Turner she didnt even wont to here about what was going on she automaticatic took the teachers side before I could even get the whole story out.The principal then told me he might have so behavior problems,how can a child that talks,and does not complete some work have behavior problems,I dont see him having a behavior problem but I do see something going on in this school and that is a problem that has existed in this world for far to long and that is racism,I send my child to school to learn the last person I thought Id have to worry about is the the teacher and the principal having problems with the color of his skin and not so much about what is right and that is equality for all.Racism should not play a part in a childs education ever, A VERY DISATISFIED PARENT
