Teacher Complaint: Mrs. Rive - Ps 198
Hello, my child goes to P.S. 198 in Brooklyn. Yesterday I went into the school to ask the teachers and staff politely, that if they don't understand why I wear the clothing I do that it would better to ask me why I'm wearing them rather than to point and talk about me blatantly. They have done this in the school which happened the day before and many other times and also in the streets when they see me they do the same thing. I tried to explain to the 3 or 4 teachers and staff memebers that were there that I am a Jew by Nationality and this is my heritage therefore I wear a traditional gallabaya which is normally worn in the middle east. The teacher who's name I believe is Mrs. Rive (my daughter told me her name) was the one who got the most upset because I told her I saw her pointing at me and speaking to someone else about me who immediately turned around and laughed a me. Long story short she said "I whish you would have spoken to me outside the school because I would have had someone just come and get you" and I asked her if that was a threat and she said "I'm going to bring my hhusband and see if you still speak like this to a man" and this is the problem with P.S. 198 none of the teachers understand how to handle parents or students and the Principle Mrs. Morgan does nothing to try and understand why these problems between parents and staff continually happen. Thank You for your time and I hope this helps other parents DO NOT SEND YOU CHILD TO P.S. 198 they are on the bottom of every school in brooklyn according to the Board Of ED., Shalom....
