Teacher Complaint: Mr Valenza - University High School

The use of the toilet seat as a bathroom pass in my opinion is a violation of the Code of Civility located in the OCPS Code of Student conduct. Forcing a student, who is in this case a freshman and new to high school experiences, to have to carry a toilet seat with them to the bathroom is belittling, demeaning, and humiliating. The teacher is placing them in a position where they can be teased, harassed, and bullied. It creates a hostile classroom situation that discourages the student to be able to perform a normal bodily function.
This classroom rule / procedure of requiring the seat as a pass could cause psychological, physical and bathroom phobias in the future for the student.
