Teacher Complaint: Ms.costello (art) - Thomas Johnson Elementary
I had a meeting this morning with the principal for the 2nd time concerning the behavior from this teacher.One word to describe her behavior?..APPAULING!!I had an issue with this same teacher last year regaurding my son and now yet again I found myself in the principals office in a meeting complaining about her choice of behaviors. My son came to myself and my husband telling us that this teacher yells and screams at his class,calls them names(including the "N"word),stands directly behind them with a whistle and blows it in their ears. When my son has confronted her and told her he was going to tell me..her response was go head..im under contract and they can't fire me! while in the meeting this morning she actually had the gull to raise her voice at my husband as he was speaking. so im suppose to think that if she has the gull to do that..that she isnt capable of what my son was accusing her of. What really takes the cake with the whole situation is that the incident that we were in the meeting for that morning..it was recorded during the class by another student on his cellphone. The student went to the teacher at the next class and showed the teacher what had taken place and the teacher demanded that he delete the recording that he didnt want to hear about such nonsense and didnt even feel it were nessessary to report it to the principal! The bottom line of the whole thing was the principal telling my husband in myself that the teacher was informed that she was being put on notice. Put on notice...she should be fired!As far as I am concerned the teacher should be fired for inappropriate behavior, the other teacher should be fired for not reporting his knowledge of the incident, and the principal should be fired for allowing this behavior from one of his staff to go on..especially when students feel that they have to go to the extreme of recording the behavior of this teacher in order to be believed. But then after all...all you hear at the end of it all is.."MY TEACHER WOULD NEVER DO OR SAY SUCH THINGS". Whatever..open your eyes and do your job. if there are any parents on this site reviewing this and your child has had this type of altercation with this ART teacher Ms. Costello..I urge you to please come forward and join me in making a formal complaint. Afterall it is our job and responsibility to protect our children and ensure that the people we trust our childrens welfare to when we send them to school are doing just that and not just protecting their own butts!
