Teacher Complaint: Dee Maxwell - Challenge Charter Academy
A few months ago my cell phone was stolen. Knowing that we aren't even supposed to have them at school, i figured that nothing would be done to help find it. after i asked Mrs. Maxwell i realized i was correct,but a few months later a girl gets her headphones stolen and my entire class gets searched for them by Mrs. Maxwell, i asked Her why she would search for her headphones and not my phone, all she had to say was that there was something special about the headphones. Today a boy had his cell phone stolen and tells mrs. maxwell. He comes back to the lunchroom and tells me that she was searching people for it. I asked her myself if she had searched anybody for it, she tells me no she hasn't, so i leave it alone. Then i heard more about it so i asked a few kids and some of them said they were searched by her for his phone. I went back to Mrs. Maxwells office and told her that i knew she lied to me and had searched people for his phone. i asked her why, she said she doesn't have to tell me anything.
She did nothing to find my phone and there are other incidences in which she has searched people for stolen/lost items but i dont know enough about them to bring them up.
The staff at CCA refuses to put soap or paper towels in the bathrooms. Mrs Maxwell says we can use her hand sanatizer, which has been proven through studies done by professionals that it is in NO way a substitute for soap and water.
