Teacher Complaint: Edith Zaider - Bronx Hs Of Science School
This is a chemistry class.
From the beginning of the year, our Chemistry Lab room in our school was under construction.
During the first week of school, on the day of our lab, we had to change our rooms, but our whole Chemistry teacher was late/absent, and no instructions were provided on what to do, and after asking another teacher for where our room is, we had a room change.
This repeated again the next week.
The main complaint here, is we missed the first two labs, where we need goggles, because of the school, so we were never instructed about bringing goggles.
However, the third week of school, almost a month, we finally were able to use our lab room,which we were not aware of, since of the previous dilemmas.
So, today on this date, she requires us to take out our goggles, and when 99 percent of our class, tells us her, she never instructed us. She starts yelling and making claims that she told us to bring goggles but she never did. Well, into the middle of the class period, she randomly instructs us to leave class and buy goggles.
This was about 13-14 students, only a few had the money on them to buy goggles from upstairs, while the others did not. She could not force us to buy goggles, goggles which we had at home. which we would have brought to school, if she clearly instructed us to do so, but she did not, due to her lack of speaking well english, which already makes this class difficult and along with the basic fact of not telling us to bring them after several room change incidents, in which us students were left in helpless journeys throughout the school, searching for our classroom.
Her lack of instruction, led her to purposely giving us zero's on our lab, and further more yelling again if we dare to come close to anyone who did have goggles. (Few students were able to buy goggles and complete the lab)
Later, another chemistry teacher,a lab organizer, Mr.Clark, came into the room , and was showing one of us students the lab materials. Since< Ms.Zaider herself, was forcing us to just stay at one side of the classroom doing nothing. When Mr.Clark, tried showing one of the students, Ms.Zaider came to him, arguing with him, about the student not having goggles, while further verbally repeating the same thing about goggles while yelling into the girls face, even though the other teacher, Mr.Clark had taken proper responsibility before.
Basically, the school could have let us borrow goggles, for the remaining 25 minutes of that class, without the teacher giving us 0's and intentionally sabotaging our grade, while she could have clearly or politely excused us since it was OUR FIRST TIME in the lab room , in one month of school.
