Teacher Complaint: Doris Doyon - Mater Dei High School
Generally incompetent, vindictive, disrespectful teacher. Tortured students on a daily basis for 2 long years. Fortunately was fired last Tuesday. I hope and pray no other students in the state are ever subjected to this sorry excuse for an educator. This is the 2nd time she has been run out of a school on a rail since 2008. Never hire her, would be my advice. Almost destoyed the music program in only 2 years. People who actively despise working with teens should seek other prefessions.

Your statement "The worst teacher in history?" I hope as this teacher is called for interviews by other districts they will disregard that ridiculous statement, because of all the awards and trophys that were awared under her direction.

Mater Dei Graduate from BandA Student

Mrs. Doyon was completely controlling. I was sitting in a class one day with one of my friends who said to me, "I'm afraid to get up and close the door." I turned to her and replied, "Yeah, it's that bad isn't it?" She didn't even want to get up and walk across the room to close the door for fear of consequences. I'm not saying that she was trying to destroy the band, but either way she didn't help the problem. She drove away at least fifteen people while I was there. Two people quit and walked out right in front of her. I became close friends with a lot of the other teachers (whom I won't mention) and they also told me they were happy she was gone.
(This was the second job she was fired from. I did my research and she actually taught at a school in Nevada who let her go.)
The band program is now doing better with what little talent they have. Hopefully they'll pull out of the rut they're in and I beleive the person who's teaching there is just what they need.
I really don't care to say what you have to say about me because I won't be checking this again. What I said was the truth and how I feel about the matter, and if you disagree, go right ahead and stand up to me. But you can't tell me what I said was false, because it's not, and most likely you weren't someone who experienced what happened, so you're blindly laying false accusations on the account that a horrible teacher shouldn't be put down because of her "personality."
I do have the right to "drag her name through the mud like that" because she almost ruined my life dream. I came close to quitting music. I don't think a band teacher wants her music students to do that, do you?
It's no matter how many awards and trophies a band gets, it's about its reputation. The reason we got awards was because we were competing against close to no one.
Marching band always gets consolation prizes, especially sixteenth place out of sixteen.
Percussion ensemble got awards because we were the only ones playing.
Wind ensemble got awards because of the talent that was established by a previous teacher. (Wind ensemble was composed of mostly Juniors and Seniors because as I stated earlier, we were the only ones who could play our instruments.
No, she wasn't perfect. She wasn't good. And she wasn't mediocre. But she was the reason the band is in the state it's in.
The reason I took the time out of my life to write this essay is so that one, I could refute the people that don't know what they're saying, and two, I can make get my point across much more than they did. I hope this brings a nice closing period to all those who want to know just why this woman got fired and I hope it acts as a just warning to those who want to experience the hell my peers and I went through.
If you read this, the only thing I can offer you is my great thanks. Thank you for your time and thank you for listening to what I hope to be a little bit of a black stain that will come back to haunt this woman someday.

The "Graduate" stating "facts" from supposedly "researching" is wrong, the number of students quoted for the "instances" is wrong, and only served to be hateful, inflammatory and vindictive.
Mater Dei must be "proud" of someone who would continue to go out of their way to be hateful and attacking, and stating that they are hopeful to continue to be hateful as a "little black stain..," even well after whatever incident started this complaint in a rumor-mongering fashion. A real Christian attitude!!
Yes, the band numbers "decreased" after 15 seniors graduated. The teacher was dismissed before any recruiting for the new year started, apparently from unfounded rumors as are seen above in the "complaint."
It doesn't speak well of a school that would act in such a fashion without any formal investigation of any supposed problems!
The long letter above is no dobut from the original complainer, and is written from an unbelievably inexperienced view.
Mater Dei Band was well on its way to regaining its former glory as a Band about quality. Awards were given from some of the best adjuticators in the country! "Competing against close to no one" (as the whiner was saying)won't get a band invited to National events, with Gold Honors, obviously!
It's a shame little rich boys and girls and their parents can have the power to try and wreck somebody, and that a revulsive shame that Mater Dei lacked the backbone and integrity to look into whatever situation triggered their actions in a forthright and proper fashion, while respecting basic human dignity.
Kudos, however, to the students who took the time to respond in a truthful fashion about Ms. Doyon, who obviously did care deeply about her students and that position.
The great loser in all of this is Mater Dei. The Band was well on its way to brining glory to Mater Dei and it's students through quality music. Again, its a shame that whining screw-offs have the power to anonomously sling mud in this fashion, claiming they have "the facts."
