For example, my child came home in tears because she was told that she had not passed a test. At first I was sympathetic as any parent would be and said basically "it happens" and there will be next time...That is until she continued on to tell me "because I did not put capital "A" as my answer, I only put "a" and that same pattern cost my daughter her test score. Wow. Is this really what we are spending our time focusing on is whether a letter is in Caps or not? I can not see where the necessity comes nor the point of this? I would like my child to be able to gauge their knowledge and not their ability to differentiate between a capital and lowercase letter. I thought that was...2nd grade curriculum? Might I ask who conducts the hiring process of who is responsible for our children these days? Seems like lately its always the burn out people from industries that they could not succeed in and during a recession come for job security rather than benefiting my child's future!
