Teacher Complaint: Principal Mimi Fortunato - Marta Valle High School
THIS IS A personal experience based on what I found about about a school on the website. Just hear me out. I'm not here to break any rules, but I do a have great concern.
You will find a message on this site reading:
"Wonderful Principal!!!" clearly regarding the school.
WHILE NORMALLY, I would remain neutral, as I am not involved, and simply was reading, there is a problem.
The message I mentioned was most likely written by whatever person was being complained about. The message quoted:

"I am writing to correct allegations that are not based in fact on this site written by a disgruntled parent with a personal agenda to destroy
our wonderful school, students and our principal Ms. Mimi Fortunato. Marta Valle High School has a proven track record of improvement since 2009 and the arrival of Ms. Fortunato. Ms. Fortunato has proven to be warm and nuturing and has transformed the culture and climate of the school. She has developed meaningful collaborations for our staff and students with many community based organizations in order to improve the quality of life and educational opportunities at MVHS.
I have seen an increased level of student respect for themselves, each other,the adults in the building and most importantly for their academics. All of these improvements are the direct result of Ms. Fortunato's abilities and genuine concern for the welfare our students."
("nuturing" wasn't spelled correctly.)

...I DO NOT know of, or go to this school, or know of its "North Korea is the best Korea" attitude, but I DID do research about this school out of great concern, having a bad feeling.
The internet has given me a decent amount of accounts suggesting your average, stereotypical, VIOLENT, GHETTO, NEW YORK CITY PUBLIC SCHOOL. Several News Bloggers have given this school their sarcastic support mentioning that girl was beaten to the point of bleeding, but no real action was taken into account regarding the girl, and the boy got away, because his father supported the school.
I understand that is anothers account, but seriously, considering how THIS "Wonderful Principal" message was written style-wise, compared to all the opposite accounts I've seen, I conclude that this message was most likely written by an ACTIVE member of the schools staff, if not the Principal.
This is a COUNTER-STATEMENT, which IS fine, but I really can't trust what was written here, even though I read it FIRST, before all of the bad things. It screams "spam" way too much. HELL, IT PORTRAYS THE FIRST WRITER AND THEIR ACCOUNT AS NOTHING MORE THAN ATTEMPTS TO "DESTROY OUR WONDERFUL..." I have my doubts that a good lot of people would gang up and try to over-throw this woman for the fun of it. This isn't religion, war, or anything remotely close.
IN OTHER WORDS, I advise you to heed caution and until personally investigating yourself, PAY NO NOTICE that that message.
Now, I've dealt with bad New York City schools, bad neighborhoods, and bad teachers, for a LONG time, so I wasn't about to keep quiet. I've seen this before, it brings my piss to a boil. Sorry. But I don't like this kind of thing. I've experienced a milder form of it myself.
Now that you've heard my account, please draw your own conclusions.
