This teacher was my 2nd grade teacher back in 1996-1997 and there is nothing but amazing comments that have for this teacher. I am currently getting my masters in Education in a great university and it is because of her. I would speak to the teacher. Parent Teacher communication is key in a students education, instead of posting things online.

Speak to her personally, a lot of things can get misinterpreted.

Loving parents, all parents should do what you have done " COMPLAINT " , most parents are afraid to speak up on behalf of their child and thats the problem ....teachers and other school staff have a tremendous back up system "they never do anything wrong" right? I just had an incident with my child attending the same school as your son. Yes, some teachers are very hostile and maladjusted and treat children as if they were criminals. My advise to you is to always document any incident of mistreatment by asking other parents and students ( witnesses ), then once you have your concern documented take your complaint to the principal , she too will probably try to justify the teacher's action and will try to go against you at that time is when you take your complaint to the district ( trust me they don't like that ). Teachers and school staff need to be made aware that WE THE PARENTS CARE AND WILL DEFEND OUR CHILD FROM ANY ACTION AGAINST THE CHILD CAUSING A NEGATIVE IMPACT.
I always send nice letters to the district commending good teachers and principals and when it's time to send a complaint , I put a nice one together and that's where it goes..THE DISTRICT, trust me that works!

My daughter has been in that school since she was in kindergarten(she is now in the 5th grade), and I must say that I have mixed feelings when it comes to the school and its staff. I had a big problem with my daughter's kindergarten teacher, and even bigger problem when I had to speak to the principle about getting something done. After several not very nice meetings with the principle and many emails sent to the district, I managed to get my daughter changed from class. So my recommendation to you would be to get her changed from class so that your child's school experience can be a pleasant one. For the person who commented on parent, teacher communication, I'm not sure if you are a mother, but at least to me, my child is everything, which means that I am very involved in everything involving her. I have had and will always continue to have great Parent Teacher communication. But keep in mind that it takes two for that to occur, and there are times in which teachers just choose not to want to have that communication. In life you will cross path with people you just don't like, unfortunately as a teacher you do not have that luxury, because children should never feel uncomfortable walking into a class. So if this parent is complaining on the internet, it might just be, to make others aware, in case this is happening to them. Someone might just realize that they are not alone. As for your advise of speaking to them personally, what happens when you find out that things were NOT misinterpeted?
