Teacher Complaint: Boswell - Clarkdale Attendance Center
My son has had a really horrible year so far. Although he has been diagnoised with ADHD he is a normal 15 year old kid. The problem is that he continues to be suspened from school for the least little things. I am the first one to admit that he is challenging to deal with at times,my thing is isn't it the teachers job to be able to handle studets with special needs? Instead this teacher loses all his cool and yells and screams at my son in front of the entire class and insults him as well as cuses at him and humiliates him for not understanding his work. To me that is unacceptable. This is not the first time this has happened and of course the principle is going to side with the teacher that's her job, just as it is my job to up hold for my child. He was suspened today for the third time in a two week period and him sittng at home is not helping him get an education. They say he is disrupting the class and i strongly disagree because if the teaher was more patient and was knowlegable in how to handle the situation without yelling and screaming then there would be no disruption taking place. He is as much a part of the problem as my son is. And as fustrated as they say they are i am truly at my end and am at the point where i am ready to file a formal complaint. My son is at the point where he doesn't know what to do, i feel that this teacher is putting him in situations where he is going to come out the faliure everytime. My son can never learn in a hostile setting where he feels he can't make a mistake on his work without being made to feel like some kind of ignorant dummy (which the teacher has alledgedly called him) that can't learn. He may be only fifteen but he still knows when he is being picked out to be picked on and i am really sick of it. I have never been so disappointed in a process as i am with this. It is dishearting to think that people, teachers especially think there is no hope for your child. My son is a good kid that God has chosen to be special in his walk in life, why? is not for me to ask. All i know is he has really gotten a raw deal at this time in his life when he should be enjoying it the most! Teachers should be patient and nuturing not buligerant and threating.
