Teacher Complaint: Mary Beth Tietgens - Biddeford High School
This woman calls herself a teacher! She lectures the students about how they need to become workers who DO NOT need a college education!She says it is a waste of time and money to go to college when there are so many other jobs out there that do not require a degree of any sort. If this wasn't bad enough, she only talks about her life and her situation instead of teaching. She goes as far as going into crying rages because she is having "an emotional day". My son/daughter was asked to stay after to make up a lesson they were to do the day before, and when he/she did, Mrs.Tietgens had him/her making copies for other lessons in the days to come instead of making up his/her assignment! I was so disgusted I said he is no longer able to stay after for her again. When his/her report card came home she had written that he/she needed help with his/her language skills and would benefit from nightly studying, well as his/her parent I know first hand that he/she in fact does study nightly, he/she cannot study material he/she is not taught or given. I commented back that she needed to stop pointing the finger at her students, rather that she looks into the mirror and fixe the problem, and not to waste mine or my son/daughter's time any further, and that she could greatly benefit from people/child relation skills due to her outbursts in class in front of the students. The Assistant Principal saw this as harassment and threatened to call the police on me if I ever contacted any teacher ever again in this manner..how was I supposed to respond/reply? Twitter? facebook? In my opinion, the superintendent really needs to replace most of it's staff in this school that allows students to kiss and touch each other in VERY inappropriate ways in the hallways and the bathrooms where there are no cameras, instead of learning.
