Teacher Complaint: Ms. White (teacher)/ms. Harriet Brady (principal) - Liberty County High School
On December 5th I received a call from the school nurse that my child was sick and needed to be picked up. So I had my adult daugther to pick up my son since I was at work. She picked my son up from school and school records indicates this happened at 12:41. On December 13th my son's English Honor teacher approached my son's father to inform him that my son didn't turn in an assignment that was due on a day he was absent and that he would have to take a 20% reduction on this grade because the assigment was late but it needed to be done. It was brought to my attention on the 14th so I made my son do the assignment and turn it in the next day. On the 19th the teacher told my son that she wasn't going to accept it because she didn't believe it was his work, but finally agreed to. Then the 20th told him she wasn't going to accept it because that day was an unexcused absence for me to take it up with principal. The principal deemed that day unexcused and can't explain why. I stand behind the idea that the school had me pick him up so it is excused. But he received a zero with no explaintion as to why that day is unexcused. I guess the school wanted a note that stated "I concur with your decision that my child is sick and can't remain at school". Who knows.....
